<div itemprop="description">Mrs. Ellen Jutras, age 98, of Prince Albert, SK passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013.&nbsp; Ellen is survived by her loving family: her three sons Raymond (Helen) and Danny of Prince Albert, Claude (Brenda) of Red Deer, AB; her daughter Ruth Ellen (Dennis) of Creston, BC; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; her sister Ruth Brooks of Victoria, BC; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Armand (Kathleen) Jutras of Saskatoon as well as many nieces and nephews.&nbsp; She was predeceased by:&nbsp; her husband of sixty-three years Pierre who passed away on November 8, 2002; her parents Francois Xavier and Della May (nee Finney) Brunelle; her brothers Orville and Charles; her first great-grandchild Cassandra Marie Hubel and her daughter-in-law Wendy.&nbsp; Ellen was born on December 6, 1914 on a farm near Lafleche, SK where she also attended school.&nbsp; When her parents moved to Prince Albert in 1934, she continued her studies at the Convent of Sion in Prince Albert.&nbsp; She also attended Business College and upon graduation, she was employed as a receptionist with Dr. Bigelow, until she married Pierre Jutras.&nbsp; Ellen devoted her life to raising her family. She accompanied her husband during his forty-seven years in Federal Corrections, living in Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Alberta and on his temporary assignments in Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba.&nbsp; During the years her husband was Warden of the Drumheller Institution, Ellen participated in many of the institutional social activities.&nbsp; She was well known and respected by both staff members and the inmate population.&nbsp; Ellen shared her husband&rsquo;s love of music and loved to read.&nbsp; She enjoyed spectators&rsquo; sports and was an ardent tennis player.&nbsp; She met her husband on a tennis court. She was a lover of nature and spent many happy hours with her family at her Carwin Park Cottage, &ldquo;Bye Bye Blues&rdquo; at Emma Lake bird watching and enjoying the picturesque surroundings.&nbsp; Ellen was a fervent Roman Catholic and instilled in her family the importance of faith and prayer.&nbsp; She was an active member of the CWL at St. Mark&rsquo;s Parish in Prince Albert and St. Anthony&rsquo;s Parish in Drumheller.&nbsp; She trusted in God and had a great devotion for the Blessed Virgin Mary, was an ardent supporter of the Society of The Little Flower (St. Th&eacute;r&egrave;se of Liseux) and more recently was enrolled into the confraternity of the brown scapular with all the spiritual benefits of the Carmelite Order.&nbsp; In the fall of 2004, while visiting in Alberta, Ellen suffered a debilitating stroke.&nbsp; After a year of rehabilitation she returned home to Prince Albert where she has resided at Good Shepherd Villa until the time of her passing.&nbsp; To Pat, Renai and all the amazing staff of Good Shepherd Villa who cared for Mom during these past seven years, thank you for your compassion and excellent care.&nbsp; Ellen thought of all of you as her extended family.&nbsp; Good Shepherd Villa staff and friendly residents have truly been some of the many blessings in her life.&nbsp; You all held a special place in her heart.&nbsp; Good Shepherd Villa is truly a care home with a &ldquo;big&rdquo; heart.&nbsp; To Michelle, Linda and the palliative care team, thank you for your care, compassion and guidance during these past two weeks.&nbsp; You, along with Pat and her staff have made the last leg of Ellen&rsquo;s journey special and so much easier to accept.&nbsp; Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 22 from River Park Memorial Chapel.&nbsp; Dennis Bleier will officiate.&nbsp; Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23 from Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 &ndash; 4 Avenue West by Father Roque Concepcion.&nbsp; The Cathedral was where Ellen and Pierre were united in marriage on September 6, 1939 and where many family milestones were celebrated.&nbsp; Interment will take place in the Garden of Gethsemane, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.&nbsp; It is the family&rsquo;s request that those wishing to place memorials may do so to the Canadian Cancer Society.&nbsp; Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca.&nbsp; <b> Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Colette Kadziolka, Funeral Director </b> <p> <b> &nbsp; </b> </p> </div>
