It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene Ann Labossiere on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, with family by her side. Marlene was born on February 15, 1949 in Prince Albert, SK. Marlene is survived by her husband of 46 years Marlin Telesphore Labossiere; her three daughters Tammy (Glen Young) and their three children Ryan, Eric and Matthew, Lorelei Bergen and her two children Alexis and Julian and Sheryl (Tom Dimma) and daughter Britney. She is also survived by her two brothers Tim Scharkowski (Lillian) and their two children Marissa and Michael and Brian Kochan (Brenda) and their three children Kelly, Fraser and Audrey. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her very close cousin Darlene Olson. Marlene was predeceased by her father Michael Kochan; mother Stella (Ksyniuk) Scharkowski; her granddaughter Courtney Zbaraschuk; son-in-law Kevin Bergen and grandparents Alexander and Alexandria Ksyniuk. Marlene was a woman of a strong, deep abiding faith. She was very much the matriarch of the family. Marlin and Marlene never missed a child or grandchild's birthday, Christmas concert or sporting event. She especially loved going to the grandkids hockey games, where she was always counted on the be "shovin in the luck!" She was always a strong and passionate Calgary Flames fan, and loved to watch the games on TV and wearing her Flames jersey. Marlene loved to dance and it was always a treat to watch them tear up the dance floor. Everything Marlene did, she did it with passion. She embraced her life, her family was always a priority, her time with Marlin spent at the dream cabin at Emma Lake where she could enjoy time admiring the wildlife up close, especially the deer and squirrels. Marlin and Marlene took the trip of a lifetime to Hawaii, and she often spoke of her desire to someday return. Unfortunately, Marlene's health would not allow her to return to Hawaii. She suffered from a range of illnesses, including epilepsy, rheumatoid arthritis, emphysema and congestive heart failure. Throughout all of her trials and tribulations, she did not once complain, and carried her burden stoically. She would apologize to Marlin, saying that she was sorry to cause an inconvenience. She endured great pain daily and did so with great dignity. She was the strongest and most courageous person in this manner. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Prayer service will be held on Easter Monday, April 1 at River Park Memorial Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Father DJ Vu will officiate. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 2 at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church by Father Tuan Doan at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would request that a donation in her memory be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Interment will take place in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount, Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may view the obituary and sign the guest book at www.riverparkfuneral.ca. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Don Moriarty, Funeral Director
