She leaves to cherish her memory: her son Shea (Amanda Grimwood); her sisters JoAnn (John) McKenzie of Swift Current and Janay (Jim) Rittinger of Medicine Hat; their children Andrea (Warren) Miller, Jared (Amy) McKenzie, Regan (Stephanie) McKenzie, Cameron Rittinger, and Allyson Rittinger; her brothers-in-law John Duncan of Maple Creek and Les Duncan of Calgary; their children William (Wendy) Duncan, Heather (Rod) Forsyth, Richard Duncan, Michael (Tosha) Duncan, Graham (Randene) Duncan, and Deanna (Troy) Cook; her sister-in-law Marion Jordaan; her uncle Ron (Helga) Reed; and numerous great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Allen; her son Jess; her parents George and Billie Turner; her in-laws Bill and Grace Duncan; and her sister-in-law Joan Duncan. Trudy’s life began on June 20, 1947 in Lacadena and she always spoke fondly of this home. She attended school in Lacadena, Provost, Lethbridge and Rosetown. Trudy and Allen were married in 1967 and had two boys, Jess and Shea. Trudy started her work career in the Royal Bank and also worked as a secretary in many different offices, including SMDC. Although she lived in many southern and northern Saskatchewan locations, she considered La Ronge her home. Trudy served several terms on the La Ronge School Board and took pride in supporting her community in this way. Throughout her life, Trudy was an avid reader. She loved word puzzles, trivia games, flowers, and in her later years, watching curling. She enjoyed music and playing the piano, and she was particularly fond of sing-a-longs. Trudy and Allen loved dancing, playing cards, and socializing with friends. Family and friends were always a priority for her. For many special occasions, Trudy was called upon to use her creativity to produce a poem or song to celebrate the event. Her love of words was also evident in her humorous Christmas letter which everyone looked forward to reading each year. Trudy spent most holidays in Swift Current with her family. Summers were spent by the motel pool, and she made all other family occasions special by her cooking, baking, and setting a beautiful table. She adored these family times. Trudy had many losses in her life with the deaths of Jess, Allen, and her parents. These losses affected her greatly and made her hold Shea, her family, and friends very close. Trudy touched the lives of many people, and she will be dearly missed. Her funeral service will be held at the La Ronge Alliance Church on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Heather Wyatt officiating. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens in Swift Current. As an expression of sympathy, those wishing to remember Trudy may do so with a gift to the La Ronge Musical Festival.
